Arrive Early

The Lambchop Tavern is the result of a passionate owner whom does nothing in moderation, great atmosphere, and the best ingredients and recipes. Be careful…you’ll want to linger there for hours so insure you have Uber loaded onto your smart phone.
The Tavern bar keep can make any drink but specializes in Bourbon…not surprising since the tavern sits a short drive from the Bluegrass state. If you don’t see the brand you like ask and it’s likely to appear from under the bar.
Since opening, LCT has become the place to be in trendy and upscale Mason. Arrive early or you’ll stand in the back and watch the beautiful people.

An Air of Mystery

Where to begin with the Lambchop Tavern? Well, it seems to have sprung up out of nowhere to quickly become the hottest, if not only, bar in the Lexington Park/Winding Creek subdivision. It’s a warm and inviting spot with an air of mystery. Truly, in many regards, the bar raises more questions than it answers: Why does the front entrance remain locked until you ring a doorbell? How is it possible that my tab always paid? Is that a real lamb’s head? Despite all that, one question I’m never left asking is what to order. The bartender — kind, hospitable, and, I’ll admit it, surprisingly paternal — is always quick to offer a suggestion or fix up one of his signature drinks. Which brings me to the last of my questions: how many of these can I have before driving back to Kentucky? No doubt, there is a bit of irony that one of the great bourbon bars of the tristate area lies north of the Fields-Ertel line. This inconvenience notwithstanding, the Lambchop is my bar of choice. No other venue could beat the selection, the price, or the childcare that this gem offers. 5/5.

Mason’s Best Kept Secret

As a former Mason resident, it is nothing short of divine to have been able to return to my home town a decade later and find Mason’s best kept secret: The Lambchop Tavern.
The staff is superb, decor exquisite, and drinks are not only aesthetically pleasing, but so good you will not be able to only have one. The drink menu is the best I have seen in Mason, or any other area. Better yet, if you are a bourbon drinker, you have found your new home away from home. You name it, they have it.
My husband has been known to stop by for an hour on his way home from work. He comes home refreshed and relaxed and that’s our favorite version of him!
The LCT is unique in many ways but, my favorite by far is that while other bars are not kid-friendly, you can plan to find one or two children(possibly even three or four) running about in the patio area or even the lower level. They have snacks for the kids such as avocado-oil chips, fresh homemade kefir and biscotti.
If you happen to stop by at the right time of day, you may even catch the owners hosting their daily prayer service. Told you… it’s a unique place!
You are doing yourself an incredible disservice if you let one more day pass without stopping in to witness the fantastic company, overall ambiance and casual yet classy time that is the Lamb Chop Tavern.

A Senredipitous Find

Found this place by accident one night as it turns out my usual study spot went under and was replaced by this trendy new bar. Since I was already there, and a little parched, I decided to give it a shot. I was greeted immediately by the owner, Dan. Great guy, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about all things liquor. He has a passion for bourbon which as a result has transformed me into quite the bourbon enthusiast as well.
With a bourbon selection that is second to none, Dan is always willing to whip up anything from a signature Nick’s Manhattan to curating a stave of some of the finest and rarest whiskey’s on the market. There hasn’t been a single drink that’s come across the counter that I have not thoroughly enjoyed.
The Lambchop has quickly become my tavern of choice, and I’ve been back several times with family and friends. If you ever find yourself in Mason, Ohio I definitely recommend stopping by!

What’s Not to Love?

The Lambchop has the best syrup and cherries around. The service is always stellar & our daughter is even allowed to sit at the bar to get her “little girl manhattan”. The spicy margarita can’t be beat either. We love the owner and we love the Lamb Chop Tavern.
